Over the past 20 years there has been a concerted effort by the greater Jewish community to reach out to Jewish interfaith couples and families. It is time to move beyond welcoming, and incorporate interfaith families into the fabric of Jewish life. Synagogues have been struggling to remove their systemic barriers interfering with the process.

Actualizing this behavior requires a paradigm shift for the clergy, the staff, the Board, the nursery school, the Hebrew school, and the members. A public lecture about these seminal issues, followed by meetings with the various stakeholders, is an excellent way to begin the process.
